About Me

Hi! I'm Steven, and I would love to tutor you. But first, let me tell you a bit about myself.

Graduating with a degree in Math and Computer Engineering, I was quickly attached to actuarial science. I worked as an actuary for two years before becoming a data scientist and eventually working at Shopify. Throughout my time working in industry, I loved the content, but always felt a calling to do something impactful for my community. 

Having been a swim coach and tutor since I was in high school, I had always been tempted to switch into education, and finally decided to take the leap of faith in 2023. This was a tremendous turning point in my life where I found my true passion and fulfillment. That being said, I'm grateful for the time I spent in industry, because it gave me a unique insight into education and an ability to look at pedagogy with a new perspective.

 

Now, I am passionate about working with dedicated students to develop and hone their skills in math and computer science. I don't only teach curriculum, but also help you develop study habits and applicable life skills that will help you land a job and/or university admission.
